I've been talking back and forth with a Chinese person on youtube recently, and the subject shifted to speaking in Japanese and commenting on Japanese actors blogs. Namely Mitsuyoshi Shinoda's. I said that I could throw my comment into a translator, but the stupid thing might make me say something crazy like "I do da cha cha in a maid costume, you silly whore biscuit!" or something equally nuts. Then they mentioned learning the language. Well the books upon books and the My Japanese Coach games help, but all of these books says one same thing. Speaking with a native speaker will better help you learn the language. There ARE no native speakers around here... At least not that I know. A skinny little American nobody (and no I'm not talking the Kingdom Hearts kind...) becoming friends with a cute, successful Japanese actor? I really don't see that happening. That's the kind of stuff you see in dreams, TV movies and Mary Sue fan fics. Not in real life and CERTAINLY not to me.
